Working for Nature

15. April 2008 · 00:54 · Age: 17 Jahre

The project Working for Nature - Nature for Working, implemented by the EUROPARC Federation, the umbrella organisation of protected areas in Europe, and financial supported by the German Federal Environmental Foundation, was initiated at the beginning of 2007.  Its aim is to support young people with an interest in nature conservation and protected area management.
The website www.workingfornature.org, which is already up and running, strives to enhance the exchange of information between individuals searching for internships and protected areas and/or other organisations or institutions in the field of nature protection that offer internships. Organisations wishing to advertise an internship register on the site and enter their internship vacancies into a data base. Individuals looking for an internship can choose one that is relevant and apply directly using an online application form.
To ensure that this project is widely recognised across Europe, all European protected areas as well as other organisations or institutions in the field of nature conservation, are encouraged to advertise their internships on the website. In the long-term, the EUROPARC Federation seeks to contribute to an improvement in the quantity and quality of internships on offer within the field of nature conservation and protected area management in Europe.

For the first working year of the project Working for Nature - Nature for Working, twelve young and highly motivated conservationists were selected to realise twelve pilot internships in a variety of European protected areas from May 2008. During their internship, they will support the park in their daily activities or within a project and also promote the project Working for Nature - Nature for Working in the host country.

The EUROPARC Federation cordially invites you to visit www.workingfornature.org, to advertise your available internships and to inform others about the site so that the platform becomes better known and is a success!
If you have any questions about or require further information on the project, please get in touch with Damien de Chantérac, d.dechanterac@europarc.org.
